sab voting program

Bring your voice, bring your opinions, bring art to Colorado schools.

Voting has ended for 2011. Check back in May 2012 to vote for next year's Janus Student Art Buying Program.

Art plays an important role in almost all aspects of education, from creativity to interpretation to discussion to understanding design . And art should be accessible to students from all walks of life. In Colorado, the Janus Student Art Buying Program ensures that it does.

This one-of-a-kind experiential art education program, created by Janus and the Cherry Creek Arts Festival education department, engages students in an in-school exercise to help them explore the many facets of art. Students then have the chance to apply their knowledge through a hands-on art-buying opportunity at the Festival where they will purchase artwork for permanent installation at their school through the support of Janus. Four schools also have the opportunity to purchase art for the Mobile Art Gallery (MAG), a collection of museum-quality art that travels to public schools, libraries and community centers throughout Colorado.

You are invited to take part in this unique educational experience.

As a member of the community at large, you can cast your vote for the artist you’d like to see featured in the Mobile Art Gallery this year. Click here to view exhibiting artists and their work and vote for the one you feel has the potential to make the most significant educational and artistic impact. Your input will establish the pool from which Janus Student Art Buying Program participants will make their final selections.

You’ll also have the chance to select the Colorado school you’d like to see win a two-week visit from the Mobile Art Gallery - the school with the greatest number of votes will get this unique opportunity to have a museum-quality exhibit on display at their school. And everyone who votes will be entered into a random drawing for Festival VIP packages, framed art posters, and more!

At a time when funding for school arts programs is so rare, you can help Janus and the Cherry Creek Arts Festival fill the void by making the Janus Student Art Buying Program and Mobile Art Gallery the best they can be.
