Arts Festival Media Center and Media Parking:
The Arts Festival Media Center will be at the Inn at Cherry Creek, 233 Clayton Street (outside the front entrance; refer to Festival VIP sign). Temporary Media Parking will be located at 2nd Avenue and Columbine, behind the Inn at Cherry Creek and the Cherry Cricket. Free All Day Parking will be located at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center West Deck Parking Garage.
 
2008 Cherry Creek Arts Festival Overview:
Janus presents the 18th Annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) on July 4, 5, and 6 with the theme of "Have it All…at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival." Centrally located on the neighborhood streets of Cherry Creek North, this outdoor Arts Festival gives over 350,0000 annual visitors the chance to meet and talk with international visual artists, sample fine cuisine, visit special exhibits and artist demonstrations, and entertain their families with interactive 'Artivities' and exciting performing arts.
The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is one of the nation's most competitive juried art events, inviting only 232 artists from the 2,400+ applicants. The 13 media categories represented include: ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, graphics and printmaking, jewelry, metal works, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and wood. *CCAF is fully accessible during all hours to disabled visitors and senior citizens, but this time is specifically designated for individuals with mobility concerns.

Denver's Cherry Creek North Shopping District: 2nd and 3rd Avenues, on the six streets between Clayton and Steele Streets.

Admission to the Festival is FREE.
 
Transportation and Parking:
                Bike Parking:
Two bike corrals: 3rd Avenue & Steele Street and 2nd Avenue & Detroit Street. Bike Denver (www.BikeDenver.org) is another non-profit partner with The Cherry Creek Arts Festival and will assist with Bike Parking. A suggested $1 donation for bicycle valet parking contributes to the Bike Denver's 501 (c)(3) non-profit mission of promoting and encouraging bicycling as an energy efficient, non-polluting, healthy, and enjoyable transportation alternative within the City and County of Denver.   
                Car Parking:
Please respect our Cherry Creek North neighbors and respective enforced parking signs when you park in the area. There are three $5.00 "Festival Premier Parking" on-site options to serve you, and they each benefit the Arts Festival:
1) The Janus Capital Group building garage at 151 Detroit,
2) The Clayton Lane garage at 2nd and Columbine,
3) The Whole Foods parking structure at 2nd and University. The Cherry Creek Shopping Center also offers free parking.    
 
Arts Festival Rules:
For the safety and enjoyment of all festival attendees, please observe the following rules. Smoking is not permitted inside any structure or in any seating area on the Arts Festival grounds. Large signs and placards which may endanger or inconvenience the public attending the Arts Festival are prohibited. Bicycles cannot be ridden within the site and must be parked at one of our "bike corrals." The riding of skateboards or use of roller blades or roller shoes within the site is prohibited. All packages are subject to search. The public address area is located on 3rd Avenue between Steele and Adams. The Arts Festival reserves the right to decline admittance to anyone who violates the reasonable policies established for public safety.

2008 Festival Feature on Fillmore Plaza
FLEXION (fleck-shun) presented by Forest City Stapleton, Inc. is the Festival Feature for 2008. Combining stilt acrobatics with hanging, falling, and flying, Flexion is a dynamic outdoor movement spectacular – part dance, part theater, part aerial circus. Enjoy FLEXION three-times daily on Fillmore Plaza.
 
Culinary Demonstration Stage
The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Colorado presents the Culinary Demonstration Stage with kitchen provided by Sub-Zero/Wolf. Join us near 2nd Avenue and Clayton Street as we celebrate Culinary Art with exciting, entertaining and informative chef demonstrations.
 
Jazz and Wine
Enjoy the all-new Cru Vin Dogs Wine Pavilion and Jazz Stage located near 3rd and Steele Street.
 
Festival Ambassador Program
Visitors at the Festival will be greeted at all twelve entrances by the newly trained and vastly improved customer services of our Festival Ambassador program. The festival has fashioned this program after Disney's customer service model with the simple goal of helping your festival experience be the best ever!

What makes a Cherry GREEN? While experiencing all the amenities of the festival, you'll enjoy knowing that your participation is complemented by newly enhanced and collaborative environmental efforts. The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is working with the City of Denver, each vendor of the event, and other local festivals to help reduce the environmental impact of our public celebrations.

Join us on June 10th at FASTFRAME of Cherry Creek where we will highlight the original 2008 commemorative poster artwork. Meet Poster Artist Suhas Bhujbal and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and complimentary cocktails. Festival Preview Celebration (by Invitation Only)
This fun celebration is complete with fine art, great music and fabulous food at the Loews Denver Hotel. This invitation-only event is the Festival's annual thank you party for corporate sponsors, VIP patrons and key supporters. The Festival Preview Celebration is presented by Volvo, hosted by Loew's Denver Hotel and in association with Cru Vin Dogs Wine, Heineken and Pepsi.
 
Denver's Art Patron Gala of the Season, 5th Annual Opening Gala:
This is an exclusive opportunity to preview and purchase art, and to enjoy exquisite cuisine and world-class entertainment. The Opening Gala provides an additional opportunity for visual artists to sell their works and build their patron bases, provides an exclusive arena for our VIP festival patron contributors, and financially benefits the year-round art education and outreach programs of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival.
- The Opening Gala takes place on July 3rd and begins with an elegant reception on Clayton Street, followed by an exclusive art buying opportunity, dinner and program at the JW Marriott Denver at Cherry Creek.
- The Opening Gala honors 2008 Distinguished Honoree, JANUS. Past honorees include Lisa Herzlich, Mayor Wellington E. Webb, Barry Hirschfeld, Linda Goto, Mayor John W. Hickenlooper and Bill Charney (founder of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival.

Artist Preview Event
Come enjoy a "sneak peek" at 27 of the 230 Visual Artists juried to exhibit at the 2008 Cherry Creek Arts Festival. The public is invited to participate in this free event on Thursday, July 3rd, from 7pm – 10pm. The event takes place on Clayton Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Cherry Creek North.
The Artist Preview Event will feature gorgeously lit streets and artist booths, spirited beverage opportunities, strolling entertainment and more!
 
"Fireworks Spectacular"

Where: Fireworks show can be seen above the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Best viewing and sound is on 1st Avenue at Fillmore Plaza.
 
Online Art Auction: Goes live June 30, 2008
The Cherry Creek Shopping Center presents the Art Auction powered by Qwest. The auction features over 140 works of art generously donated by exhibiting artists available for bidding by the public. It's a great way to view the majority of the visual artists all in one place! To participate, visit the Art Auction tent on St. Paul Street or post a bid online at www.cherryartsauction.org. Arts Festival Emerging Artists Program
Presented by BP America, this program is not only a unique opportunity for up-and-coming artists to exhibit their work to the public, but also a chance to establish contact between the public and new and diverse art forms that have not yet been enjoyed at this event. This year, 8 Emerging Artists will exhibit their work on 3rd Avenue between Fillmore and Milwaukee. Prior to the event, Emerging Artists received mentoring from the Arts Festival and experienced exhibitors in preparation for their first time exhibiting.
 
Artivity Avenue
- Visit Milwaukee Avenue and experience Artivity Avenue, a full city-block of interactive themed activities for the entire family to enjoy.
- At Creation Station, children can engage in many interactive art projects with involvement from the Denver Botanic Gardens, Children's Museum of Denver, the Denver Hospice and the Colorado Parent Magazine.
- Anything can happen throughout the day at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center Family Stage, sponsored by The Children's Hospital, as the live entertainment – including musical performances, dance troupes, puppet shows and magic shows – provides an endless variety of entertainment and amusement for all ages.

The Essence of CCAF
 - CCAF is a year-round 501(c)(3) non-profit arts services organization that presents an award-winning annual civic event. For three days during early July, the nation's #1 outdoor Arts Festival (as ranked by four independent industry publications) is presented in Denver's prestigious Cherry Creek North neighborhood. Visitors enjoy free access to a diverse array of art forms in a unique setting.
 - Boasting attendance of 350,000+, the Arts Festival features over 232 of the nation's finest visual artists; seven performance stages presenting a broad range of entertainment; an award winning volunteer program with over 1,000+ volunteers working in 23 different committees; and a successful sponsorship program with a 91% retention rate.
 - The Cherry Creek Arts Festival continues to be a vital part of Denver's annual cultural and economic landscape, contributing approximately $20,000 annually to local non-profits and $250,000 in tax revenues CCAF's overall economic impact is $11-13 million each year.
 - The Arts Festival is hosted by the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District and receives no commission for the sale of artwork. CCAF is entirely dependent upon donations, sponsorships and grants, in addition to support from the City and County of Denver and the SCFD. On an individual level, the public can support the Arts Festival by purchasing official Cherry Creek Arts Festival posters and merchandise for sale throughout the year, as well as refreshments for sale on-site. Individuals and businesses are also invited to participate in the Arts Festival's Festival Club and Donor programs.
 - Four full-time employees fulfill the agency's educational mission during the year through art education and outreach programs that touch 20,000 Coloradans annually.  Collectively known as Arts in Action, this includes the Mobile Art Collection, the Alliance Project and the Artist in Residence program. It also sponsors lesson plans for teachers that fulfill Colorado Arts Education and National Arts Standards.

Awards, Recognitions and Accomplishments
- Since its inception, the Cherry Creek Arts Festival has contributed a positive economic impact of over $100 million to the local Denver economy. Contributing to this figure is money from sales tax on exhibited art, festival-related merchandise, food and beverages, as well as spending at area stores, restaurants, hotels, gas stations, etc.
- Since 1991, CCAF has won over 100 International Festivals and Event Association (IFEA) awards for highest overall quality in event programming, content, promotional programs and marketing materials. The prestigious Gold Grand Pinnacle, the highest honor in the special events industry, has been awarded to CCAF four times: 1998, 2000, 2003 and 2005.
- In September 2005, CCAF was awarded the 2005 Gold Grand Pinnacle at the 50th Annual IFEA Convention in San Antonio, TX, rating CCAF the BEST FESTIVAL in its budget category in the world
- In September 2005, CCAF received nine different "Pinnacle." The Arts Festival was awarded the Gold Grand Pinnacle Award, 3 Gold Pinnacle Awards, 3 Silver Pinnacle Awards and 2 Bronze Pinnacle Awards for its volunteer program, merchandise, marketing materials as well as the over all event. The Arts Festival competed with over 1,510 entries from the world's top festivals and special events.
- In 2007, IFEA presented the Cherry Creek Arts Festival with 15 awards including the Silver Grand Pinnacle Award, 6 Gold Pinnacle Awards, 5 Silver Pinnacle Awards and 3 Bronze Pinnacle Awards. This year, the Arts Festival competed with over 1,506 entries worldwide.
