Cherry Creek Arts Festival Announces
2008 Commemorative Poster Artwork and Artist
Denver, CO – The Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) announces its 2008 commemorative poster artwork: 'A Quiet Town', 2008 -- Oil on Canvas. The artist is Suhas Bhujbal from San Francisco, CA. He is a first-time CCAF exhibitor and native of India. The CCAF commemorative poster continues to be the most collected and highly anticipated CCAF merchandise and enables patrons to enjoy fine art.
Additional information for the artist is available at: http://www.suhasbhujbal.com/
Suhas Bhujbal’s Artist Statement:
Suhas's work begins with cityscapes. With thickly encrusted paint as well as transparent glazes, Suhas subtracts the architectural forms in his own, very unique way. His palette conveys various emotions from a happy sunny day to a calm, quiet, lonely evening depending upon the need of each individual piece. Small countryside towns from India and even North America attract him more than big, modern cities. His unique sense of selecting the spots, dramatic colors and surprisingly different compositions make his paintings distinctive. Perfect balance of what's tangible and intangible is the magic key of Suhas‘s paintings.
Suhas has been a professional painter for last eleven years. He has won national as well as international awards in India and the untied States. Suhas has been selected in numerous national juried shows in India, USA and including the recent international juried show at the world Trade Center, Jakarta, Indonesia. Suhas is a gallery artist for Go Gallery in Amsterdam, The Netherlands where he has been showing his work for past three years.
A unique and innovative poster-reveal video news release is available and features the 2008 CCAF commemorative poster artwork, an interview with the poster artist, and other example works. Watch this video at: http://podcast.cherryarts.org/.
The selection process for the annual CCAF commemorative poster starts once all artists have been juried for the show. All juried artists’ submitted work is eligible to be selected for the poster. Each artist submits 4 images of work for the jury, which means the poster selection pool is over 900 images.
2008 CCAF commemorative posters will be available for purchase June 9. All are invited to the annual poster signing party, which takes place Tuesday, June 10, at the CCAF Official Framer and host of the event, FASTFRAME of Cherry Creek, at 2659 E. 2nd Avenue, Denver, from 5pm - 8pm. The poster artist will be present to sign and number limited edition posters. The evening is energized with the exciting buzz of kicking off the month of the Arts Festival and is complete with passed hors d’oeuvres and complimentary cocktails. Limited edition posters (signed and numbered by the artist) are $45, and open edition posters are $30.
