MY ART VOLUNTEERS

Behind the Scenes at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival

DENVER, CO, June, 2007 – The 17th annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) will take place this year on July 6, 7, and 8. Each year, over 800 volunteers contribute close to 30,000 hours to produce the CCAF. If these volunteers were working for minimum wage, it would cost over $150,000 to staff the three-day Festival! With an expected attendance of over 350,000 people, the need for volunteers for this year’s Festival is greater than ever.

With our volunteers serving as the backbone of the CCAF, we are able to provide this year’s Festival attendees with the opportunity to listen to hours of live music and view thousands of original pieces of art created by artists from around the world. With over 100 awards for excellence in the Festival and Events arena, the CCAF is dedicated to creating a unique and creative environment for all who attend. All of this would not be possible without the immense dedication of our volunteers.

Cherry Creek Arts Festival volunteers have the opportunity to work on a number of committees including art auction, artist demonstration, artist relations, beverage coordination, performing arts, production, special projects, sponsor and VIP services, and volunteer coordination. Visit our website at www.CherryArts.org to fill out a volunteer application and to learn more about the duties of each committee.

Hundreds of volunteers return year after year to take part in the annual festivities surrounding the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. As one returning volunteer put it, "I volunteer because I like being involved in the community and ART is such an important part of people's lives.  Keeping the community involved and comfortable while enjoying the sights and sounds is fun and rewarding. And, it is THE Cherry Creek Arts Festival."

If you would like to join our amazing team of volunteers for the 2007 Cherry Creek Arts Festival, you can apply online at www.CherryArts.org. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Arts Festival.

CCAF is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit art services organization whose mission is to provide access to a broad array of arts experiences and support arts education in Colorado. Along with the arts festival itself, CCAF fulfills its year-round art education and outreach mission through programs including the Mobile Art Collection, Artist in Residence programs and the Student Art Buying Program.

CCAF produces its signature cultural event for Colorado annually during the 4th of July weekend. The arts festival weekend event is a world-class and award-winning celebration of the visual, culinary and performing arts, and enjoys an attendance of 350,000 visitors over the 3-day event. CCAF gives patrons the FREE, rare and special opportunity to meet and talk with international visual artists, sample fine cuisine, visit special exhibits and artist demonstrations, and entertain their families with interactive 'Artivities' and exciting performing arts.

Special Thanks to our 2008 Sponsors: Janus presents the Cherry Creek Arts Festival sponsored together with Official Sponsors Bank of the West, Qwest and the Rocky Mountain News.
