DENVER, CO, June, 2007 — The Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) has a new worldwide stage for experiencing this year’s event taking place on July 6, 7, and 8 — your iPod!
The CCAF offers free video and audio podcasts to the public with sneak previews of this year’s Festival and behind-the-scenes features. If you don’t have an iPod, you can still enjoy this new feature of the CCAF. The monthly video and audio podcasts can be viewed on or delivered directly to your computer or laptop — or even through your email.
The CCAF created the podcasting program to assist in telling the story of the non-profit organization’s year-round education and outreach programs. Current education podcast videos are available covering the CCAF’s Mobile Art Collection and the African Rhythm Synergy Program. After the Festival, footage of the Student Art Buying Program sponsored by Janus will be available.
Other useful features of the podcasting program include an interactive Festival guide that provides attendees with audio, video and still-image previews of the Festival’s many exhibits. Also free to the public will be a downloadable audio podcast to accompany the Fireworks Spectacular presented by Macy’s on July 7 in honor of Independence Day. Festival attendees or the general public will be able to watch the fireworks from anywhere while listening to the choreographed music simulcast via an iPod or any other portable media player.
“The CCAF’s mission is not only to provide Coloradoans with access to a broad array of arts experiences and support arts education in Colorado, but also to stay on the cutting edge of nationwide outdoor arts festivals,” said Terry Adams, Executive Director of the
Festival. “Our new podcasting program will lead the way, not only by enhancing the Festival experience for those who attend, but also by becoming another ‘stage’ for art.”
