Emerging Artist Program
Designed specifically for artists who have no experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at all venues, OR extremely minimal experience if any. The application procedure and fee are the same as the regular show, however, upon acceptance emerging artists will pay a lower booth fee of $350, have a tent provided and receive mentoring through the Arts Festival. Artists may only apply to the Emerging Artist Program or for the general show, but they may not apply to both. Artists who are just beginning their careers in the art world are encouraged to apply. The Arts Festival reserves the right to pre-screen and research emerging artists to make sure they are a fit for this category and that they do not have extensive experience exhibiting and selling their work.

Emerging Artist Applicants will proceed in the same manner as professional artists and submit images of their artwork through the regular application on Zapplication.org. Emerging Artists are asked to apply with a 5th image of their work instead of an image of their booth. When uploading your images, you will upload the 5th image of your work by selecting 'YES' this is your booth shot, even though it is not. Then select 'Emerging Artist' as your medium category and you will be ready to complete the application.

General Information
The primary focus of the event is the juried exhibition of gallery quality fine art and fine crafts. Additionally, the Arts Festival offers an online art auction, artist demonstration stage, extensive educational art activities for children and adults, live performances, special curated exhibitions and high-quality outdoor food vending. The Cherry Creek Arts Festival is a tax-exempt, art services organization and all proceeds are used to produce the annual Arts Festival, to present educational art programs throughout the year, and to assist other related non-profit activities.

Attendance
The Cherry Creek Arts Festival's attendance is approximately 360,000 persons each year. Marketing is directed toward a diverse audience of individuals likely to be interested in the visual arts. While the majority of the audience is from the metropolitan Denver area, a significant and increasing number of art patrons from around the nation attend.

Jury Process
Approximately 230 artists will exhibit at the 2010 event. A total of 12 artistic award winners, along with the poster artist from the 2009 CCAF have been invited to return. A potential of 230 exhibit slots will be determined through the competitive jury process.

Projected images are reviewed by the panel in a blind jury process with multiple rounds. The identities of artists are not disclosed to jurors. The jury is comprised of two working artists and three other art professionals. The jury will view each artist's set of five images projected simultaneously in a horizontal grouping. The process, materials and dimensions for each image as well as artist information statements will be made available to the jury. Artistic excellence and a well balanced show are the criteria for selection of exhibitors, the Arts Festival does not have any quotas. The top 230 receive invitations; the balance of artists in the final round are retained to comprise a waiting list of alternates. Decisions of the jury panel are final.

Artist Awards
Prize money and an invitation to exhibit the following year jury-exempt are available for artistic award winners. Judging for cash prizes takes place on Saturday, July 3rd. The three jurors who are not exhibitors serve as judges. Artistic Awards are determined by consensus. Artistic excellence is the criteria for selecting the awards. Awards are presented that evening at the annual Artists Awards Celebration. A total of $30,000 is offered in artist awards and purchase programs at the event.

Booth Space
Applications will be date stamped upon receipt. Artists desiring corner locations will be assigned spaces on a first-come, first served basis from the date their application is received. Each exhibitor will be provided a space measuring 10' deep by 12' wide. Artists are to provide their own display booth, racks and/or tables in order to display their work in an outdoor environment.

Sales
Artists retain all revenue from the sale of their work with no commission on sales due to the Arts Festival.

Collaborative Work / Multiple Applications
Artists must submit separate applications, unless applying as a team. If artists are accepted as a team they may only exhibit the collaborative work they were accepted for.

Artists wishing to exhibit work produced in more than one media category must create separate zapplication accounts with separate online user id's, set of digital images and jury fee for each category. Only one application may be submitted per body of work represented. Multiple applications must represent either work in different media categories or distinctly separate bodies of work within one category. No advantage is gained by submitting multiple applications for the same body of work in multiple categories.

Application Fees
Each application must be accompanied by the $35 jury fee payment. Applicants may choose to pay online by credit card, or they may pay by a check made payable to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival (mailed to 2 Steele St., B100 Denver, CO 80206). The non-refundable jury fee check will be deposited on receipt.

Booth Fees / Acceptance of Offer to Exhibit
An artist who is selected by the jury and accepts the invitation to exhibit, must return the signed contract and booth fee ($750.00 for a regular booth and $850.00 for a corner booth; $350 for the Emerging Artist Program) to the Arts Festival by Friday, January 22, 2010. Failure to respond by the deadline may result in revocation of the invitation and immediate invitation of an alternate from the waiting list.

Digital Images
- Five images are to be submitted for each application entered by the artist.
- Four images must be of individual pieces of work.
- The fifth image, must be of a display of the artist's work, showing overall continuity and presentation of your current body of work. The fifth image is mandatory. If a booth image per se is not available, submit an image taken of a grouping of works representative of the works to be exhibited at the show. The purpose of the booth image is to ensure the artist has a complete body of work which is represented both in the first four images and also within the fifth image. It also helps identify the scale of the artist's work. Note: this is a blind jury process, please avoid submitting booth images with any identifiable sign, or photo of the artist themselves.
*Only Emerging Artist Applicants may apply with a 5th image of their work instead of a booth shot.*
- Images must be in 1920 pixel horizontal x 1920 pixel vertical format, for more information access www.zapplication.org/imaging_tips.phtml
- Images must accurately represent the body of the artist's work to be exhibited at the Arts Festival.

Rules of the Show
1. All work must be original, handcrafted work. Artist guarantees the accuracy of the description of the works presented and the authenticity of the work as the creation of their own hands.

2. Work done by a production studio is not acceptable. All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist.

3. No more than two artists may collaborate on work. Both must be included on and sign the application. Both must be present at the Arts Festival.

4. Artists must be present with their work for the entire three days of the Arts Festival. Representatives may not attend in place of the artist. The Arts Festival requires photo identification at check-in to ensure compliance.

5. Artists may only show work in categories and body of work selected by the Jury. All work exhibited must be of the quality, category and body of work of that shown in the images juried.

6. Absolutely no reproductions are allowed (see special notes per media category).

Media Categories
Media categories are used by the Arts Festival as a tool for organizing artists' images into logical, related groups for the jury's review.
