Application Information
The Deadline for the Janus 2010 Student Art Buying passed on December 11, 2009. The 2011 application will be available November 1, 2010.
You are invited to apply to participate in the 2011 Student Art Buying Program.
Janus’ Student Art Buying Program is a one-of-a-kind experiential art education program that engages students in an in-school exercise to help them explore the many facets of art, as a personal preference, as a reflection of culture and as a business, and then enables students to apply their recently acquired knowledge in a hands-on art-buying opportunity at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. The in-class study guide will give your entire student body the tools to discuss the type of art that would best represent your school. Three students are then invited to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival to purchase art for permanent installation at your school from a budget provided by Janus.
The program is designed for schools with a dedication to art education. The Janus Student Art Buying program is geared toward middle school students, however, students outside of these grade levels will also be considered. Through participation, students will learn many valuable skills such as art appreciation, public speaking, negotiation, communication, working in a team environment and more.
